Thought For The Day

More Insanity?

In-line with yesterday’s post, I think there is another issue that is going to bring a multitude of problem for our society.

Marijuana for recreational use became legal in Colorado Monday, when the governor took a purposely low-key procedural step of declaring the voter-approved change part of the state [sic] constitution. (Yahoo News)

You are aware, I am sure, that the legalization of Marijuana also took effect a few days ago in the State of Washington. Presently that will be an issue on 48 other State ballots. It seems there is a contingent of folks who can’t wait to add to the problem of “spaced out” people walking the streets, driving automobiles, and making family decisions.

I don’t really know much about Marijuana (sorry, I have never tried it – or booze either, for that matter), but it can’t be good. If it were good, there is no way our Federal Government would not be collecting tax on the growing, production, and sale of said item. (That’s three new tax streams, dummy)

With brains that are naturally rebellious to God’s TRUTH, we have been bent on corrupting them even further with “mind altering” substances. And it won’t be long (maybe already) before we will be blaming car wrecks, assaults, murders, and who know what all, on the use of Marijuana and attempting to salve our conscience with platitudes about temperance (“if only he didn’t smoke so much of it. . .).

I’m pretty sure there is no condemnation of Marijuana in the Scripture. Even God thought we wouldn’t be that dumb. (That’s a literary device for you purists).

Maybe Marijuana will never rival booze in damage – but then, who knows. And we’ve got lots of proof that it is a “gateway” drug. And that’s another story.
