Thought For The Day

Let’s Make A Deal

I llove the way our politicians and the mainstream media use words that make “low-information” folks think they are getting something for nothing –

According to a fact sheet released by the White House on Thursday morning, Obama’s preschool plan would create a new federal-state cost-sharing partnership to guarantee high-quality preschool to all low- and moderate-income 4-year-old children, including families that earn up to 200 percent of the poverty level. The program would be extended to middle-class families who may pay on a sliding scale, and would incentivize full-day kindergarten. (Yahoo News)

Great! As long as it will be paid for by a “new federal-state cost-sharing partnership” I am all in. How many people in this “great society” understand that the Feds and the States have only the money they take from the people? There always seems to be this attempt to make one believe that it will cost individual families nothing – and there is no financial consequence –

The White House has not released cost estimates for the new preschool plan. The president has said this proposal and others announced in his address would not add to the federal deficit. (IBID.)

Who are we kidding here. Since the Government has NO MONEY, of course it will increase taxes and add to the deficit. And those kids in pre-school will spend the rest of their lives paying exorbitant taxes to stave off the debt.

Let’s make a deal. Since we are looking to “boost graduation rates, reducing teen pregnancy, even reducing violent crime,” . . . and produce students who “grow up more likely to read and do math at grade level, graduate high school, hold a job, form more stable families of their own,” (IBID.) lets put half of those kids in (mandatory and consistent) Sunday School and AWANA (or like programs) in a Bible believing Church, teach them the Truth, surround them with an environment where God will consistently change their life, and then see which group has the best outcome. Oh, and by the way, the Church does all that for free!

Deal? I didn’t think so!
