Thought For The Day

Important Things

In an article on the “Ten Most Important Things Successful People Do,”  every day, I was surprised at number two. Number one was to repeat the previous nine every day, so number two was actually number one – never mind, just take my word for it.

I have been saying this for years, but did not know others (????) thought it so vital. Now that my suspicions have been confirmed, I will say it again –

Successful people are grateful for the life they have . . . . That is why they work so hard. They have the ability to repeatedly say thank you. They have learned to say thank you thousands of times and they recognize gratitude as the best attitude to live by.  (Kembo in Most Influential)

Wherever you are –  at work, school, Church, the gym, or the grocery store, there are things that have been accomplished by someone working hard so that you can be about whatever it is you are there to do. Do you think to say “thanks?”

At Church ( where most of my experience has been gained), have you ever taken time to thank the person who played the piano (guitar, synthesizer, organ, juice harp) or, how about the person who set up the tables and chairs for Wednesday night dinner? At work, do you thank the person who brings you the stuff you need for your printer? Do you leave a note for the person who straightens your desk and empties your trash can overnight or after you leave for the day? Have you ever thanked the Teacher for teaching, the girl wiping down the sweaty weight machine, the young man or lady who sacked your groceries? Well, of course you have. But do you do it every time?

I have been thinking about regularly thanking the Pastor for preaching shorter sermons to perhaps spur him toward actually accomplishing that task.

I trust you take time to thank God each day for life, breath, health, the beauty of the Earth, joy, comfort in the troubles of life, friends. . .ad infinitum.

Really! It’s important!!
