Thought For The Day

Why Do This?

I have no idea how many people read lloveletters. Sometimes I wonder if it is worth the effort to continue writing – especially if no one is listening. I have always had the idea that Truth must be proclaimed, and that those who fail to do so, or offer to people foolishness in place of Truth, are self-serving rather than servants of the Most High God.

Today I read a quote that has renewed my faith in llovelettters. If it only reaches one or two, at least they can hear the Truth of God’s Word, and the wisdom of the ages if they so choose. That is not to say – “Look at me.” Rather, look to God and to His Word. They are life – here and now, and forever in the infinite “now” of Heaven.

When you want to help people you tell them the Truth. When you want to help yourself  you tell them what they want to hear.  (Dr. Thomas Sowell)

Proclaim  the message; persist in it whether convenient or not; rebuke, correct, and encourage with great patience and teaching. For the time will come when they will not tolerate sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, will multiply teachers for themselves because they have an itch to hear something new. The will turn away from hearing the Truth and will turn aside to myths. (Paul the Apostle, 2 Timothy 4:3-4 HCSV)
