Excise

When a Physician discovers the beginnings of cell growth that indicates abnormality, they are very careful regarding the steps that follow. Sometimes the growth (especially one that is malignant) is removed – excised from the body. Hesitation often results in Cancer, which, when left untreated, may bring about the death of an individual.

I am not so sure the same application is inappropriate regarding other “cancers” in our World.

The terrorist group the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) has reportedly surpassed al Qaeda’s recruiting ability in Iraq and the broader Middle East. Younger militants seem to increasingly view al Qaeda as outdated and ineffective, expressing their dissatisfaction in online message boards. ISIS, by contrast, is increasingly seen by young extremists as the more vibrant terror network, thanks to its rapid sweep through Iraq and Syria; its targeting of Shi’ites, women, and Christians; and its pattern of brutal tactics like crucifixion. Then again, surely these “extremists” will hold their aggression to a very limited area. They could never conceive of attacking. . .say, for example, the United States of America. Perhaps we should ignore the issue, after all, they are not bothering “us.” Those Christians, along with others mentioned above, have had their run for centuries. Maybe we should let these new guys have a run at it for a change.
