Thought For The Day

Regrets

I regret to hear that we (read: United States of America) do not have a strategy for dealing with what we are told is the most dangerous terrorist organization yet to operate during our lifetime. I would admit that I had feared that.  It reminds me of Preachers who spend too much time on the golf course when the Enemy is wreaking havoc in the life of members of Christ’s Church.

“I don’t want to put the cart before the horse: we don’t have a strategy yet,” [President] Obama said of the effort to combat the militant group Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) in its safe haven in Syria. “I think what I’ve seen in some of the news reports suggest that folks are getting a little further ahead of what we’re at than what we currently are.” (Time)

I would regret being overly critical of God’s gifted men given to the Church (Ephesians 4:11-13), but I would think they would place the highest priority on protecting the “flock” from the Enemy. As Shepherd, their responsibility demands a constant attention to the “wolves” who would attack the “sheep,” and the constancy of the spiritual battle being waged by all Believers.

I would hope our National leaders would give the same time and concentration to our National and International responsibilities.
