Thought For The Day

Focus Of Attention

Genuine llove always focuses its attention on that which is lloved. It is true if one lloves people, work, pleasure, or even one’s Homeland. It seems difficult to believe that there are those who are so “in love” with power, influence, financial well-being, or themselves, that they let everything else hang on the railings of opportunism and chance.

The study of how Presidents of the United States conducted “their business” is interesting and endless. We are told that Bill Clinton was a master at finding points of agreement and enhancing relationships thereby. Ronald Reagan learned to negotiate and became very good at working with World leaders who found him able to hear and understand. George H.W. Bush had excellent skills in working with other Nations’s leaders, and his son, George W. Bush established excellent relationships with leaders from widely differing backgrounds.

Evidently, according to some, our current President relates best with his mirror.

Obama critics have pointed out his fondness for the first person singular. He said “I,” “me,” or “my” 63 times in his 1,631-word eulogy for Hawaii Sen. Daniel Inouye. He spoke twice as long about his own family experiences as the heroism for which Inouye was awarded the Medal of Honor. (Human Events)

I am reminded that God so lloved the World that He gave His only Son to become a ransom for those lost in the curse of sin and death. Once redeemed, the people who are reconciled to God by the blood of Christ are the constant focus of His attention. He never leaves them or forsakes them. He willingly forgives all their trespasses and failures. He has established for them a home in His presence with an endless future, and every day He meets the entirety of their need through His riches in glory.

Look to Jesus. Focus your attention on His infinite grace. Put your trust in Him and your life’s focus on others.
