Thought For The Day

Trouble In The Church

Those who belong to Christ have nothing to fear in the end (probably soon to be revealed). No one, not even the Enemy himself, can remove the Believer from the infinite, loving hand of God. The Church will endure to the end of the age – Christ will lose none of those whom He has ransomed with His own blood.

That being said, there is much wrong in the Church of Jesus Christ. A head in the sand will not change the truth. Watching exponential growth in some Churches does not negate the facts. There is trouble in the Church.

An interesting article I read in the San Jose Examiner pointed clearly to one of those troubling areas:

Not only are too many ignorant of what their own US Constitution says, but there are too many Christians completely oblivious to what their Bibles actually state. There is a great apostasy in the Christian church taking place which is the fault of Christian themselves that are not adequately equipped to know what the word of God actually states. Heresies of the world are being incorporated into the very church doctrines themselves which creates corruption and confusion…the enemy’s best friends.

Well said. We (Believers) don’t really have to know anything about the “heresies” that are prevalent these days. All we must know is the Truth, clearly revealed in God’s Word, able to bring freedom to our lives and victory to our days, if we are to become what God has designed us to be, doing what God has called us to do.

Every Believer should (must?) “know what the Word of God actually states.” (IBID.It is our source of Truth, our guide, the light for our journey, keeping our feet from every evil path, our shelter, our shield, our hope and our joy. (See Psalm 119)

How’s your time in the Word of God? How is your Church handling the Word of God? Do you know the Word of God?
